What's the meaning of Birabiro?
In Amharic language Birabiro means butterfly.
Amharic is the national language in Ethiopia, a country close to my heart, because here my son Tesfaye was born.
Why the butterfly?
The butterfly stands for the beginning of new experiences with the awareness that comes from previous steps and with the maturity that is the peak of vitality, of indipendence.
The butterfly, at the end of evolution, can fly and can spread all over the world beauty and delight, by the gaily-coloured wings.
Why Birabiro b&b?
Let's start from the beginning (the egg)...
In 1997 I took the degree in chemical engineering.
For 10 years I have been working as project manager in Italy and in France. In this period I gave myself entirely to my professional growth, keeping feet firmly on the ground (like a caterpillar) …
Then Tesfaye arrived. My priorities changed and I felt the strong wish of transformation...
I withdrew in myself to find a rebirth strategy (the pupa in its cocoon!). I left the job, I attended an interior design course, I gave myself to a new home renovation, I started the project to open a bed and breakfast, an old golden dream… Birabiro b&b…
Now (like a butterfly) I'm almost ready to come out from my shell and begin a new life!
Which are my expectations?
I would like that my guests, during their short stay (as short as butterfly life is), can catch the beauty and the delight of the gaily-coloured wings...
