La vecchia latteria (The old dairy) is a place rich in history and memories: a country house surrounded by meadowsand green hills. Its name pays homage to the genius and courage of Gianna Pozzi and Domenico Negri. In the Seventies they turned a small farm into a resourceful dairy business. Everybody knew “Gianna the milkwoman”. Every morning, “without setting the alarm clock a single time, ” as she used to say, at 6 o’ clock sharp she set off with her van for home deliveries. With her hearty, friendly nature, Gianna had immediately understood the great potential of the area, therefore, besides the dairy business, she worked as a hospitable landlady. Her house has always been the favorite destination of fond tourists running away from heat waves and city chaos to enjoy peace and relaxation in San Michele.
In 2013, forty years later, the house was completely restored and transformed into La vecchia latteria Bed & Breakfast. Dori, who was born in that house, runs the Bed & Breakfast with her husband Gino, after venturing with him on a series of successful tourist businesses. Their passion and their professionalism are now at the disposal of their new guests. As for La vecchia latteria, its story still continues today.
