area: San Siro
The Trenno district, located in the western part of Milan, still retains the charm of the village it once was. Its history is deeply rooted in the past, highlighted by the Church of San Giovanni, which dates back to 1017, serving as a reminder of a time when rice cultivation was one of the area's main activities. Today, the neighborhood is a peaceful oasis surrounded by lush greenery, flanked by some of the city's most beautiful parks: Trenno Park, the Forest in the City, and Monte Stella, also known as the "Little Mountain of Milan."
This area provides numerous opportunities for leisure and daily life, featuring restaurants, breweries, and the Bonola shopping center, all within a short walking distance. Amenities such as bakeries, laundries, and small shops are conveniently located nearby, making the neighborhood particularly accommodating for all needs.
Getting around is easy and quick, thanks to efficient links to the city center and major attractions in Milan. The Bonola subway station on the MM1 (red line) is just a 10-minute walk away, which takes you to Piazza del Duomo and Sforza Castle in 16 minutes, to Cadorna Station (with a connection to the Malpensa Express) in 13 minutes, and to Rho Fiera in 6 minutes. For those who prefer surface transport, bus 64 stops nearby and reaches San Siro Stadium and the MM5 subway (lilac line) in 10 minutes, takes you to Piazza Tre Torri (CityLife) in 5 minutes, and to the vibrant Isola district in 14 minutes. Bicocca University can be reached in about 20 minutes.
Also within walking distance is the La Maura racetrack, which has been transformed into the Milan Snai Arena for major musical events. Lastly, for travelers, the nearby Lampugnano bus station offers connections to FlixBus, Autostradale, and other transport companies.
