Loger à Porta Venezia, c’est se plonger dans l’histoire de Milan. Autrefois appelée Porta Orientale suite au projet initial développé par l’architecte Piermarini, la Porte que l’on connait aujourd’hui a été construite entre 1827 et 1828, à partir d’un projet de Rodolfo Vantini. C’est la porte par laquelle Renzo Tramaglino fit son entrée à Milan dans le célèbre roman d’Alessandro Manzoni i Promessi Sposi. Les célèbres Jardins de Porta Venezia, appelés aujourd’hui Jardins Indro Montanelli, abritent le Palazzo Dugnani, le Musée Civique d’Histoire Naturelle, le Planetarium Urlico Hoepli. A signaler également l’espace Oberdan, une salle d’exposition de 700 mètres carrés dédiée aux expositions de photographies et d’art contemporain organisées par le Département.
